How to Play Chain Reaction

The Basics

Each cell on the grid has a critical mass — the number of orbs it can hold before it explodes:

• Corner cells have a critical mass of 2
• Edge cells have a critical mass of 3
• Inner cells have a critical mass of 4

On your turn, tap or click any empty cell or a cell you already own to place one orb of your color. You cannot place orbs on cells owned by another player.

Explosions and Chain Reactions

When a cell reaches its critical mass, it explodes. Its orbs fly out to all adjacent cells (up, down, left, right), adding one orb to each and converting them to your color — even if an opponent owned them. If any of those neighboring cells now also hit their critical mass, they explode too, and the reaction keeps going. One well-placed move can flip half the board in a single turn.

Elimination and Winning
